David let out a laugh. "Don't be so paranoid, we're probably far away from some traps." He said, being the carefree dunce he was known on the outside world as. "Don't worry too much." He continued to let Charon pull him along.

"Well, never know without getting there, get through some how." Chikao said, she sighed. Never in her life had her internal translator been running for so long. she covered her ears, she wanted to hear Japanese words, words she could understand without trying she wanted speak Japanese. "I hate this..." she thought to herself "Why can't I just go home? why must i stay here with these... others?" she looked to Marisia, she wasn't that bad... "Appreciate your bravery, and patience." She said letting her brain take in all the information, she stepped forward, tentatively it wouldn't be long now, the door was just ahead...
"Look at it this way," Jerome said to Charon "if they placed a trap they'd trap themselves." he smiled happier than he'd ever been now that he had his daughter back. "I'm Jerome, by the way." he added. Sophie had up until this point been very glad that she had her father back, it was jarring to be caught by opposing emotions. Ones of fear and urgency. She whined in fear, she was afraid of her companions and herself. She was afraid they'd turn on her and that they'd hurt her with their "gifts". she let go of her father's hand and let herself fall back, she walked quickly behind, huddled up and shivering. "Sophie?" Jerome looked back at her, surprise dhow easily she let go of his hand. "Are you alright?" "You just keep moving!" She shouted, her eyes watered. "Don't you touch me!" "I..." Jerome paused, how dumb was he, Sophie was an empath, she tuned in to whatever emotions were strongest. "We've got to run, fast. We'll deal with the locks when we get to them but right now we need to run, and be ready to fight if we have to!" he could hear the clunking of the lab guard's feet on metal floor.. The ominous clunking that got louder and louder. Without even bothering to drag her along, Jerome outright picked Sophie up by the waist and ran like hell.

Charon considered his point, but if there were traps, wouldn't they know where they were, and how to activate them? But when he saw the father and daughter run, he froze. The fear he felt in his cell was creeping up again, impending doom, impending pain. His hand closed on David's arm like a vice, his body tensing and all colour draining from his face. they were all. Going. To. Die.

"Hey don't get like that." David said, lightly pinching Charon's cheeks. "It's ok, we just have to avoid as much as we can, just think positive." He tugged on Charon's hair. "Calm down." His arm was starting to go numb.
Marisia closely followed behind Chikao, readying herself to break any lock in the way.

[[ooc: i apologize for the lack of character reactions in this post, it is merely technical.]]
The guards ran at the prisoners at both sides, the front and the back. They had them trapped, it would not be hard to take a few, the girl and flashlight boy, 458 and 459 respectively. 456 was an easy one too. He had no fighting power whatsoever it seemed.
the two others, 455 and 457 however, were quite possibly dangerous, and still useful. 455 was an auto translator. Or so the scientist said, they wanted her alive. 457 was some sort of witch it seemed. According to the accounts of the south team she made a wall int heir path, they had to go around it through a whole other hallway. 457 was also the one that shattered cell doors like they were made of glass.
They closed in, stepping around the spread out party. They were quick to pull their tazer staffs on 455 and 457 upon meeting them. "Remain calm, you are surrounded." the leader said in a commanding voice. Conveniently they were greeted by 458 and a mysterious sixth ranger. The leader smiled as the two jerked to a halt. this was his lucky day, an extra sixth prisoner to be terminated.
The south team stopped behind patience 459 and 456, they aimed their guns ready to shoot. "Stop, you are surrounded, make any false moves and you won't move again."

Charon's heart almost stopped as he froze again, looking at the guards, his hand immediately loosening around David's arm, yet still holding it. The only thing going through his mind was, in an infinite loop, ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod. However, he knew he couldn't just stand there. he couldn't fight, no; but he was an expert at hiding. The brightness of the room wavered, like he was thinking of what to do, how to do it. All of his plans formed rapidly in his head; unfortunately, they didn't involve many of his companions. Everyone had someone else watching their backs, they didn't need someone to go out on a limb for them - though, if it was required of Charon, he would certainly do it. His hand on David's arm tightened immediately again, and without waiting for a permissive nod from anyone else, he made the room fall into pitch blackness. The sort of blackness that was impossible to see in; your eyes would never adjust, because there was no light to adjust to. Only Charon could see in it, or, he assumed, if anyone else could see in the pitch black, they would too. He tugged David's arm, heading toward the left wall, pressing himself against it. His skin, hair, clothes; they were pitch black aswell, like Charon had become nothing but a shadow. That was all he could do; hopefully it would give the others a headstart at victory aswell. Hope was all Charon had, and he didn't have much of it.
(-cracks knuckles- ss'at okay? :3)

When the lights went out David's appearance shifted to that of one of the guards with a tazer. He grabbed hold of Charon's arm. "If they find us, just play along okay?" He asked in a hushed voice. His plan was a rather simple minded one.
Marisia was about to attack when the lights went out. Her energy attacks would surely make her into a giant flash light if she used them. That left it to a battle of strength. She lightly cracked her knuckles, as she slipped against a different wall. She edged herself closely toward one of the guards, waiting to strike.

Jerome fell on his back, he lost Grip of Sophie who ran up against the wall in terror. he stared up in total shock. Then the lights went dim, he couldn't see a thing, is that what death was like? He took in a deep breath and stood up, his bare feet touching the cold metal floor. He was still in the same place. He took a deep breath and imagined the Tazers being torn form the hands of the officers, they were mounted on sticks to it wouldn't be that hard, In truth he could just imagine them exploding, but with the darkness and others in front of him he didn't want them harmed.
meanwhile the guards were dumbfounded, all the lights had been dimmed. They hadn't been prepared for such a happening, they didn't have heat sensor goggles, and neither did they have lights in thei helmets, the only lights they had on them were the gun lights, and those were put out.
Chikao looked in front of her she didn't want to be tazed, and no visual illusion would work in the dark light. She thought about the best noise for the situation. She knelt and put her hands over her ears. A shrill earsplitting shriek raced thought the halls. A banshee sound, she would use the unexpected darkness to her advantage, they would believe the halls were haunted. Sophie screamed with the banshee, she curled into herself on the wall and began to wail in fear.
'BACKUP BACKUP, WE NEED BACKUP!" The squad leader recited into his walkie-talkie. His men began to panic and step back.

Charon shivered against the wall, nodding when he heard David's command. He wanted to help the others, aswell... but... he just didn't have the abilities. Perhaps the darkness was helping; he heard the guards starting to panic and knew he might have done okay. Maybe he wasn't so useless after all; but he had to focus on the lights staying pitch black.... and not letting his eardrums pop from the screaming, that would mess his ability up for sure. If only they would survive... he hoped now, and that was all he was able to do.

David winced at the sound of the screaming. He loathed loud noises they caused his appearance to change without his will. If he didn't focus entirely on maintaining his current look he'd change. He let go of Charon's arm, and clutched his head. "SHUT HER UP!" He screeched. "I CAN'T FOCUS!"
Marisia's cat ears flattened against her head, as she snapped a guards neck from behind. Her ears were possibly the most sensitive part of her body. They were her biggest weakness, because of them she'd been captured and locked up in here. She slowly made her way to another guard, trying to ignore the headache she was developing. She needed to kill the guards so they could keep moving.

Jerome ran over to Sophie and covered her mouth. "Calm down sweetie." he cooed not letting himself get exited. Sophie cooled down adapting to her father's cool cucumber attitude. She took long deep breaths and closed her eyes, not that it mattered much by way of darkness.
"Make you move!" Chikao called, "no let banshee harm?!" She laughed contemplating weather to take a chance and break her nonviolence code. It was not yet in self-defense, therefore uncalled for, but in the situation... She stepped back to the wall and scooted over to Jerome and his daughter. "I will keep calm, you fight because I cannot." She whispered.

Charon's eyes were closed; if all he saw was black, the room would be black. No light would enter; all that would be helpful to finding eachother was the human's sense of instinct, and nothing more. To his relief, he could tell that his companions could find eachother, while the guards didn't have faith like that. However, he felt David's panic all at once, and gently placed his hands on his arm, trying to calm him - even though he wouldn't do such a good job. "Hey, she stopped... it'll be okay, focus now, alright?" He murmured gently, trying his very best to do what he could.

Marisia's ears slowly perked up as the screaming stopped. She moved forward, and snapped a couple other guard's necks. She needed to speed up before their back up arrived, then she'd be sorely outnumbered, and they'd probably bring more deadly gadgets.
David's appearance slowly shifted back to that of a guards. "Good." He said, straightening himself up. "Any idea what's happening?"

"I think they're retreating." Jerome stated as the guard ran down and out of the hallway in a great rush.
"Light Please?" Chikao said triumphantly, standing up confident of her and her party's apparent victory.
"They are gone..." Sophie said tearing a little she ran to her father and hugged his legs "Daddy! I'm sorry I said those mean things to you..."
"It's alright now Sophie I know you didn't, mean it." He told her stroking her short black hair in a comforting manner.

"How.... do we know?" Charon asked quietly, not changing the lighting at all. His body was shivering a little, looking into the pitch black frightenedly. "Just because we heard them leave, it doesn't always mean they're gone." He was trying to be logical; if he made the lights come back and the guards were right around the corner, they'd all die, and.. it would be his fault. He wouldn't, not until they knew for sure.
